As of May 15th 2025 Spotify only accepts applications from organizations with, among other criteria, a pool of +250k active users. This makes it damn near impossible for a newly born app like Radio Spot to get approved as an app that can 'just' use the Spotify API for all of its users.
That doesn't mean you can't though. It just means the process of setting up the link between Radio Spot and your Spotify account is a bit harder than it should be. Spotify hasn't lost its startupiness completely (yet) and does allow its API for personal use. Which is how we apply it in Radio Spot: the user sets up a personal developer account and client definition for Radio Spot, it just happens to be the same client for all Radio Spot users. Sound overly complex, and that's true, but until we can convince Spotify that Radio Spot is a valid partner to open up the API for, it'll have to do. And also: the feature is worth the effort, it's even kind of addictive, and your Spotify playlist becomes so much richer over time with songs you'd never think of adding otherwise.
We'll guide you through the process, no worries. And rest assured that at no point do we ever offload any sensitive data from your device's secure storage, this process IS secure.
Start the process by going into the Settings within the Radio Spot app. A wizard will guide you through the steps.

You need an active Spotify account. Yeah, really 😁. But this can be a free subscription.
The Radio Spot app is installed (duh!).
